JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Is Getting a Full Makeover: Here’s What’s Changing

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is coming up with some super amazing renovations especially in their rooms. Read on to know what you can expect.

One of Dubai’s most recognisable hotel addresses is about to look very different. JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai has announced a major enhancement program kicking off in April 2026. And the scale of it is hard to ignore. All 1,608 guest rooms and suites are getting a complete redesign. The two executive lounges are being overhauled. And three of the hotel’s signature dining venues, Prime68, Vault, and Kitchen6, are in for a full transformation. Let’s check out what’s happening.

What’s Actually Changing at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai

The rooms are the centrepiece. Every single one of them, across both towers, will be redesigned from scratch. The goal, according to the hotel, is a more considered experience where design and functionality actually work together rather than just looking good in photos.

The dining piece is equally significant. Prime68, Vault, and Kitchen6 are all part of the transformation. Beyond the existing venues, the hotel is also building out new homegrown F&B concepts. That process already started last week with the launch of VNTG Grape & Cheese Society, a new addition to its luxury dining in Dubai lineup. For anyone who’s spent time in the best hotels in Dubai, you’ll know how much the food and beverage experience shapes a stay. The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is clearly betting on that.

Will the Hotel Be Closed?

No. And that’s worth flagging because a project this size usually comes with disruption. The hotel has phased the work so that one tower stays open while the other is being worked on. Restaurants, meeting spaces, the Saray Spa, and all recreational facilities remain fully operational throughout. If you’ve already got a booking, it should be business as usual.

It’s a smart approach for a property that functions as both a Dubai staycation destination and a major corporate hub.

Why Now?

General Manager Gerrit Graef put it plainly: “We are not simply re-designing spaces, we are rethinking how the hotel feels, how it functions, and how it serves our guests going forward.”

That framing is telling. The hospitality industry has shifted. Business travellers expect more design-conscious environments. Dining has become a destination in itself, not just a convenience. The lines between work trips and leisure travel have blurred considerably, especially in a city like Dubai, where a weekend staycation can turn into a full-on culinary and spa day without ever leaving the property. This renovation seems to be the hotel’s answer to all of that.

What to Watch For At JW Marriott Marquis Dubai?

The program runs through 2026, with the hotel promising updates as key milestones are reached. Previews and first looks are expected as sections are completed. If you’re planning to stay or even just visit for dinner, Prime68 in particular is worth watching. It’s been one of the go-to spots for fine dining in Dubai for years. Seeing what it looks like post-transformation will be interesting.

For now, the hotel is open, operational, and about to get significantly better. Keep it on your radar if Dubai luxury hotels are your kind of thing.
