Dubai Airport Parking: DXB and DWC Rates and Tips

DXB and DWC parking sorted – short-stay and long-stay rates by terminal, valet, the free pickup areas and the fastest way to pay before you fly.

Airport parking is the one Dubai tariff that catches even seasoned residents out, because it has nothing to do with the street rates you know. Leave a car at the wrong terminal car park for a week, and the bill can outrun your flight. Here’s how DXB and DWC parking works, what it costs, and where you can wait for free.

This is part of our wider guide to parking in Dubai, which covers city rates, zones and payment in full.

DXB parking, Terminal by Terminal

DXB parking terminal by terminal

Dubai International (DXB) splits parking into premium bays close to the terminal and cheaper economy or long-stay areas with a shuttle. The short-stay rate climbs quickly, so premium suits pickups and drop-offs, while economy is the one for actual trips. The figures below are approximate 2026 rates and vary by car park; always confirm the live tariff on the official Dubai Airports site before you leave the car.

TerminalShort stay (approx)Daily max (approx)
Terminal 1Economy from AED 25 (USD 7) first hourEconomy AED 85 (USD 23), Premium AED 125 (USD 34)
Terminal 2 (flydubai)From AED 15 (USD 4) first hour, +AED 10/hrAround AED 150 (USD 41), weekly from AED 500 (USD 136)
Terminal 3 (Emirates)AED 20 (USD 5) first hour, +AED 10/hrAround AED 200 (USD 54), weekly from AED 700 (USD 191)

Valet parking is available at Terminals 1 and 3 for around AED 100 (USD 27) per use, handy when you’re short on time with luggage and kids in tow.

The free pickup and waiting areas

You don’t always have to pay to collect someone. DXB has short free waiting windows in the car parks for quick pickups, so if a flight is landing you can wait a few minutes without charge rather than circling the ramps. Time it to the actual landing, not the scheduled one, and keep an eye on the posted free-minutes limit before the meter starts.

Wow-Emirates Expert Tip: For any trip longer than two days, economy or long-stay parking almost always beats a return taxi once you count both airport runs. Do the sum on your own trip – the break-even is usually around the two-night mark.

How to pay at Dubai Airport Parking

Pay before you head back to the car. Scan the QR code on your ticket or use a pay station in the terminal to skip the queue at the exit barrier. There’s a useful backup, too: DXB accepts Salik at the exit, so if your ticket is unpaid and you have enough balance, the fee is deducted straight from your Salik account as you leave.

DWC (Al Maktoum) parking

Dubai World Central (DWC) is quieter and generally cheaper, with short-stay and long-stay options and a shorter walk to the terminal than DXB’s economy lots. If you’re flying from DWC, long-stay there is one of the better-value airport options in the emirate. As with DXB, confirm the current rate on the official site before you travel, since tariffs are reviewed periodically.
