Dubai is hosting the prestigious OCEANMAN World Final Championship from December 5 to 7, 2025, at Kite Beach. This is in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and will bring together more than 2,800 swimmers from 93 nationalities. Swimmers across men’s, women’s, and children’s categories, including Olympic champions and national titleholders, will compete in an exhilarating display of open-water swimming. The competition’s scale and caliber will highlight Dubai’s reputation as a world-class sports destination.
A Glimpse into the OCEANMAN Championship

The OCEANMAN World Final Championship is renowned for its challenging open-water races, which attract top-tier swimmers from across the globe. This year, more than 2,800 athletes, including over 1,200 national champions, will compete in various events. For this, many participants are flying in from outside the UAE to showcase their skills. Among the distinguished athletes are Ukrainian Olympic champion Mykhailo Romanchuk and Olympic swimmer Leonie Beck. Both of whom have extensive international accolades, including Olympic and World Championship medals.
Issa Sharif, Director of the Sports Events Department at the Dubai Sports Council, expressed excitement over Dubai’s role as a key location for the OCEANMAN Championship. He emphasized that this year’s event marks the largest in the history of the series. The event not only brings global sports stars to Dubai but also enhances the emirate’s sports calendar.
The Impact on Dubai’s Sports Scene
Dubai’s successful hosting of the OCEANMAN Championship reiterates its standing as a hub for sports and tourism. According to Fermín Egido, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dubai is regarded as one of the world’s most attractive destinations for athletes. With its world-class infrastructure and stunning beaches, it provides an ideal setting for competitive events. This marks the second time Dubai hosts the World Finals, after previously hosting five OCEANMAN qualifiers.
Elite Athletes Prepare for the OCEANMAN World Final Championship
The women’s field includes Barbara Pozzobon, Giulia Gabbrielleschi, Clémence Coccordano, Bettina Fábián, Angélica André, Georgia Makri, Rachele Bruni, Caroline Jouisse, Rebecca Mann, and Brooke Travis. The men’s field includes Logan Fontaine, Axel Reymond, Andrea Filadelli, Domenico Acerenza, Logan Vanhuys, Ilario Giuseppe, Dario Verani, Marcel Schouten, Jean-Marie Pacôme, and Bailey Armstrong.
Professional races will commence on December 5, with team and sprint events. Moreover, races for children are scheduled for December 6. Races for qualifiers from different countries will be held over distances of 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers.
