What You Can Actually Get to Eat With the New Menu
Both menus open with starters served to the table. On the Classic side, that means iceberg lettuce with caramelised onion dressing, chirashi maki, beef gyoza and shrimp tempura. Good, crowd-pleasing stuff. Mains from the Classic menu include salmon fillet teriyaki, tiger prawn with Japanese hollandaise, cedar roasted baby chicken, or a rice hot pot with crispy chicken.
The Premium Teishoku steps things up across both courses. Starters here include corn salad, sashimi moriawase, salmon tartare, dynamite spicy shrimp tempura roll, and king crab, black cod and prawn dumplings. For mains, you are looking at sea bream fillet with ryotei miso, lamb cutlets with Korean spices, beef fillet with chilli, ginger and spring onion, or the black cod marinated in yuzu miso. That last one alone is worth the upgrade.
Both menus let you add any ROKA dessert for AED 29.
Who This Works Well For
The format suits a midweek business lunch where you want to be done in an hour and still eat something worth talking about. It also works for a group catch-up where no one wants the menu-deliberation exercise to take longer than the meal itself. And if you have never been to ROKA Business Bay Dubai before, this is probably the most efficient way to understand what the kitchen is actually good at.
