The Ice Warrior Challenge Returns This September at Ski Dubai
If skiing and penguins are the easy days at Ski Dubai, this is the hard one. The Ice Warrior Challenge returns for its 17th edition on Sunday 20 September, and if you want in, you have until 18 September to sign up.
Run with the Dubai Sports Council, it has quietly become a proper fixture on Dubai’s sporting calendar. It has been going since 2010, and last year pulled more than 500 competitors from close to 70 nationalities. So it is less a gimmick, more a genuine test of who can keep moving when it is below zero and the floor is ice.
What you’re signing up for
More than 20 obstacles, built for the cold: rope walls, ice pools, monkey bars, tire runs, net crawls and a few things designed to humble you. It is open to people of all genders aged 15 to 60, so it works for first-timers and serious racers alike. Warm layers and grippy shoes are your friends here.

- Elite, AED 280: for experienced racers aiming to finish in under 25 minutes
- Individual, AED 250: any fitness level, just you against the course
