Nad Al Sheba is getting its own mall. The Grand Mall opens on Wednesday 19 August 2026, and it is built for the people who actually live in the neighbourhood, not for a day-trip tourist. It is a community retail and lifestyle destination inside Nad Al Sheba Gardens, developed by Shamal Holding. First announced back in 2024, it is fully leased ahead of opening and will roll out in phases rather than all at once.

When does The Grand Mall open?
The first phase is the practical stuff, the things you would want within a five-minute drive of home.
- Waitrose and Partners is the headline. This is the first Waitrose in Nad Al Sheba and the anchor of the whole mall.
- MMI for drinks
- Heart Cottage Lane
- Maple Bear Nursery, handy if you are dropping kids on the school run
- Al Jaber Optical for glasses and eye tests
- Fixperts for repairs and alterations
So, on opening day, you can do a proper grocery shop, sort the kids, pick up glasses, and get something fixed. Groceries, errands, nursery. That is the pitch, and for residents it is a strong one.
The restaurants land in September
If you are coming for a meal, hold off until early September. That is when the dining and cafe lineup opens, and it is a solid list of homegrown favourites.

Alongside the food, Staywell Pharmacy and Tips and Toes (nails and grooming) open in the same phase, along with additional cafe and bakery concepts.

Coming in 2027: a gym and a clinic
The mall is not finished in 2026. Fitcode (fitness) and American Hospital (a clinic) complete the health and wellness side in early 2027. Worth knowing if a gym close to home would change your routine.
How to Reach The Grand Mall
The Grand Mall sits inside Nad Al Sheba Gardens, a gated residential community about 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai and close to Meydan Racetrack and Mohammed Bin Rashid City. If you live in Meydan, MBR City or the surrounding villa communities, this is now your nearest mall.
The wider development is built for daily life: walkable roads, cycling and running tracks, sports facilities and an education campus are all part of the plan. The mall is the retail piece of that puzzle.
For anyone coming from farther out, it is an easy run off the main highways, and parking is on-site.
