When is Diwali 2025?
Diwali is celebrated for five days, and this year the festivities are starting from Saturday, October 18th, to Wednesday, October 22nd.
Day one in the festivities starts with Dhanteras, which is considered an auspicious day to buy gold, silver, and kitchen utensils. As buying them is believed to bring prosperity.
Day two of the following celebration is known as Chhoti Diwali or Roop Chaudas. On this day, people take ritualistic baths with oils to release and cleanse themselves.
Day three is the main Diwali day, the festival of lights. On this day, people do Laxmi Puja, decorate their homes, and celebrate with their families.
Day four of the festivities is the Goverdhan Pooja, which is celebrated the next day of Diwali. People exchange sweets and worship Lord Krishna with their families.
Day five, the last day of the Diwali celebrations, is Bhai Dooj, a day dedicated to the brother-sister bond.
