So, you’re plotting your grand Eid Al Adha adventure around Dubai — food plans, family visits, mall hopping, beach days, and maybe finally checking out that new spot everyone’s been raving about. Sounds dreamy… until you remember the parking. The endless circling. The “just five more minutes” in front of someone else’s car. The existential crisis in a crowded lot.
But fear not — the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) just came through with some glorious, sanity-saving news: parking in most public areas around Dubai will be absolutely FREE from Thursday, 5 June through Sunday, 9 June. That’s four whole days of guilt-free parallel parking and no dashboard drama. (And yes, we’re counting Sunday — it’s already free, but hey, it still feels like a win.)
Before you start planning to park wherever your heart desires — a quick PSA: multi-level parking terminals are not included in the free-for-all. So if you’re eyeing one of those, better double-check the signage unless you feel like gifting yourself a surprise parking fine this Eid.
What About Services and Centres?
Here’s the deal: from June 5 to 7, most of the Customer Happiness Centres and vehicle inspection stations will be catching a break — because even government employees deserve some Eid vibes.
BUT if you’re someone who thrives on ticking off life admin during the holidays (no judgment, we respect the hustle), the RTA Smart Centres in Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and their head office will be up and running. They’ve got your back for all things digital, from renewals to inquiries to the “Wait, can I do this online?” moments.
Car Due for an Inspection?
If your car’s been flashing warning signs like it’s auditioning for a Fast & Furious reboot, you’ll need to wait just a little. Vehicle inspection services will resume on June 8 at Tasjeel Al Tawar, Al Yalayis, and Shamil Muhaisnah. So hold tight till then.
And for everything else — regular government transactions are back on Sunday, 9 June, just in time for the post-Eid reset.
So, to sum it up: free parking, digital convenience, and a heads-up on service closures so you’re not left knocking on locked doors. Now you’ve got one less thing to worry about — go forth and conquer Eid in Dubai like the city-savvy legend you are.
Pack snacks, plan smart, and maybe — just maybe — don’t leave finding a parking spot until the last second at The Dubai Mall. We said the parking’s free, not magically empty.
