If you’re going to eat Indian food in Dubai, doing it with a direct view of the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain from the terrace is hard to argue with. That’s the Mausam proposition – and it delivers on it.
Opened by Emaar Hospitality Group at Dubai Mall in early 2025, Mausam (meaning “season” in Hindi, Arabic, and Urdu) is a North Indian and Mughlai restaurant on the ground floor of the mall, sitting right on the promenade facing the fountain. The menu rotates with the seasons, the interiors are warm and detailed, and the terrace is one of the better outdoor dining spots in Downtown Dubai.
Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

Mausam serves authentic North Indian and Mughlai cuisine at Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai, open daily for lunch and dinner, with terrace views of the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa, priced from AED 200 per person.
What Is Mausam?
Mausam is an Emaar Hospitality restaurant – the same group behind Address Hotels, Vida Hotels, and a large chunk of Downtown Dubai’s dining landscape. It sits at Unit G-092 and G-093-1 on the ground floor of Dubai Mall, directly on the waterfront promenade facing the Dubai Fountain.

The concept is North Indian and Mughlai cuisine with a seasonal rotating menu. The kitchen uses homemade spice blends and the food leans toward classic dishes done well – biryanis, tandoori, rich curries – rather than reinvention for its own sake. The open kitchen lets you watch the chefs working, which adds a bit of theatre to the room.
Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. The outdoor terrace is the reason most people book here – the fountain view from the ground level is different from any rooftop angle, and timing your dinner to coincide with the fountain show makes the visit genuinely memorable.
The Menu: What to Order
Mausam’s menu covers starters, mains, breads, rice, and desserts across vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The kitchen uses homemade spices and the quality of ingredients is consistently noted in reviews.
Starters worth ordering:
- Samosa Chole – a deconstructed take on the classic, with an extra-crispy vegetable samosa served alongside white pea curry, mint chutney, and sweet curd (AED 50 / $14)
- Delhi Aloo Tikki – pan-fried potato cutlets with Punjabi chole, coriander, and ginger chutney (AED 50 / $14)
- Chatpata Avocado – a modern addition that reviewers single out specifically

Mains worth ordering:
- Old Delhi Murgh Makhani – the classic Butter Chicken elevated, charred chicken in a creamy tomato and cashew nut gravy
- Awadhi Gosht Biryani – consistently praised across reviews
- Gosht Pasillian – lamb chops with malt vinegar, chilli, tamarind BBQ sauce, and pepper (AED 150 / $41)
- Kasturi Bharwan Khumb – spiced mushrooms, one of the best vegetarian options on the menu
Budget per person: AED 200-400 ($55-109) for a full meal including starters, mains, bread, and a soft drink. This is a premium casual dining restaurant, not a budget spot.
Wow-Emirates Expert Tip: Book a terrace table for sunset on a Thursday or Friday and stay for the 6pm fountain show. The Dubai Fountain runs every 30 minutes from 6pm on weekdays and from 1pm on weekends – timing your meal around it is worth the extra planning.
The Terrace and the View

The terrace at Mausam is one of the draws that separates it from most Indian restaurants in Dubai. Ground-level fountain views are different from anything you get on a rooftop – you’re at the same level as the water, close enough to feel the show rather than just watch it. The Burj Khalifa frames the background.
Outdoor seating is available and smoking is permitted on the terrace. Indoor seating has the same sightlines through large windows. The interiors use earthy tones, Mughal-inspired arches, intricate detailing, and soft lighting – it reads warm and considered rather than corporate.

Ramadan at Mausam
Mausam runs a dedicated Iftar experience during Ramadan each year. For Ramadan 2026, the Noor-e-Iftar set menu was priced at AED 160 per person, available daily from 6pm to 8pm between 16 February and 18 March 2026.

The Iftar menu centres on classic Indian comfort food – starters, mains, tandoori breads, and traditional desserts – served in the full fountain-view setting. The restaurant dresses up the interiors for Ramadan with warm ambient lighting to complement the occasion.

Is Mausam Worth It?
The honest answer: yes, if the view is part of your plan. The food is genuinely good – reviewers consistently rate the curries, tandoori, and biryani highly, and the service is warm. A few reviews flag cold food or overcharging for extras, which is worth noting, but the overall picture from recent 2025 and 2026 reviews is positive.
What makes Mausam work is the combination – the fountain view, the quality of the North Indian menu, the Emaar service standard, and the location inside Dubai Mall. If you’re taking family from India or treating someone who hasn’t been to Dubai before, this ticks a lot of boxes in one dinner.
